For all versions of ChiCD older than version 4, you can find updates and corrections here. Please check the version of your Chi browser before you install an update.

Version 3.0 16.08.2006 Description: If you receive a message in Windows Vista, that it cannot find the MSWINSCK.OCX or MSCOMCTL.OCX file, then download and run this update as administrator (right click on the downloaded file and choose 'Run as Administrator').

Version 2.0 13.07.2003 Description: If you receive a message, that Windows cannot find the MSWINSCK.OCX or MSCOMCTL.OCX file, then download this update and install it in the installation folder of ChiCD (eg. C:\Program Files\ ChiCD\).

Version 1.3 06.12.2002 Description: If you receive the message "Please insert the original ChiCD 1.3 in your primary CD-ROM drive ...", even though you have inserted the CD, you should download this update. Please copy the contents of the Udate to the installation folder of ChiCD (eg. C:\Program Files\ChiCD 1.3\). The original file "ChemieBrowser.exe" can be overwritten.

Erata

Unfortunately, a couple of small mistakes made it on to the print-ready versions of the ChiCD. We apologize for these errors and will correct them as soon as possible on the CD itself.

Version 1.3 06.12.2002
  • Chapter 1.5 has a wrong solution of the exercise number 3. The correct value is V = 2.98 x 10-5 m3 = 29.8 ml.
  • Chapter 2.4 conntains a mistake in the question number 1.b): The first arrow must be an alpha-decay.
  • Chapter 6.6 has a wrong solution of exercise number 1.b). The reaction produces not 4 H2O but only one of them.
